The Board of Directors

The Studierendenwerk Vorderpfalz is an institution under public law with legal capacity and consists of the management and administrative bodies. The management conducts the business of the Studierendenwerk and represents it externally.

The administrative board advises and supervises the management. It decides - insofar as the decision is not delegated to the management - in fundamental matters. Among other things, it adopts the business plan and decides on the appropriation of the annual results. It is also responsible for expanding or restricting the tasks of the Studierendenwerk, taking out loans, acquiring or selling real estate, fixing student fees or setting up companies.
The Administrative Board consists of three professors or academic employees of the universities, five students and one person from public life. Furthermore, a Chancellor appointed by the Presidium of the universities in the area of responsibility is a member of the Administrative Board. The Staff Council (Chair) as a body of the Studierendenwerk is also a member of the Administrative Board. The fees (including your semester fee) - a total of around 2.5 million euros per year - all serve to co-finance non-commercial offers for students, such as the running of canteens (where the state is still getting a little extra money), the operation of childcare facilities for students' children, social counseling, counseling for students with children, counseling in psychological matters and support for cultural events by and for students. The contribution regulations also apply beyond the last semester until further notice, unless the Administrative Board decides to change them. It must be approved by the Ministry of Science of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, as must any changes.
  • From the winter semester 2023/2024 onwards, a new contribution order will apply. You can download it here (in German): contribution order.
