Meet your future employer over dinner?!

  • Studierendenwerk Vorderpfalz invites you to job speed dating on Nov. 18 (9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) at the Landau Mensa Fortstraße.
  • All job seekers are invited to lunch in the Mensa between 11:30 and 14:00.
  • The chef of Landau's largest kitchen, serving an average of 1,000 meals a day, will be available to answer any questions and give a tour of his cafeteria.

"For almost a year, we have had to keep our refectory in Landau's Bürgerstraße closed because we lack the necessary temporary catering staff," says Andreas Dubiel, head of university catering, explaining the initial situation for the job speed dating. The Studierendenwerk can score with working hours that are rare in the catering industry:
  • No weekend work,
  • no work on holidays, and
  • No work in the evening or at night.

"We simply thought we'd do things differently: it's not the employees who apply to us, but we apply to the employees.
And what could be better than doing that over lunch or a delicious, fair trade coffee," says Dubiel, describing his invitation.
The action addresses itself particularly to gastronomical temporary workers in part time, in addition, 520 euro job seekers are cordially welcome.

After a two-year drought, the Studierendenwerk is slowly but steadily increasing the number of meals served. In the meantime, 800 meals a day are again being served in the Mensa Fortstraße. Before the pandemic, the figure was between 1,000 and 1,400 meals.
