After all, in our view, the university canteen is more than just a place to eat—it is an integral part of the student experience.
Rising prices are making it increasingly difficult for many students to afford a hot lunch. While other countries, such as France, provide greater support for their canteens, Germany often lacks the necessary subsidies from the state level.
Affordable canteen meals are not a luxury; they are part of the social infrastructure at higher education institutions.
A student's education should not be thwarted by financial constraints, and affordable canteen dining fosters equal opportunity, community, and inclusion.
Food should not be a luxury—not even for students!
